Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party accepts the resignation of Dasho Neten Zangmo
both from the Party Presidentship and as a candidate from Dewathang-Gomdhar constituency with a heavy heart. Dasho Neten served the party selflessly and made tireless efforts to build a formidable team to contest the 2018 national parliamentary elections. She offered a breath of fresh air in Bhutanese politics by her trying to keep it free from corruption and taking strides to redefine politics where morally acceptable methods are as important as achieving a successful outcome.
As everyone is aware Dasho Neten’s career ranged from teaching to development planning, foreign and cabinet secretary, ACC chairperson and political party president. She was an exemplary civil servant who was conferred the red scarf (Nyerkem Daken) and the most coveted Druk Thuksey medal of honor. The party remains grateful for her contributions to the evolution of Bhutanese democracy and values
the valiant banner she steered in the last election warranting the party ideals with BKP towards no political expediency but for posterity to serve well the King, Country and the People beyond five years and beyond self.
Mr. Sonam Tobgay (Founding President), and the serving Party Vice-President will be the president in-charge till the next party convention is held.
